Tour Overview

  • Although here some very large Tiger fish in the Kwando River (over 8 kgs), these fish are few and very elusive.  Our target is therefor the smaller Tigers, using light tackle and artificial lures.

  • As the Kwando River and channels are narrow, we can cast towards both banks, searching out structures and faster water.

  • There are several types of Bream and a Pike that will also take artificial lures

  • Mukolo Camp works very closely with the Department of Fisheries to ensure that the River remains unpolluted and not over fished.  We practice catch and release and limit the numbers of fish we catch, particularly during the breeding season.

  • Whilst the Zambezi River is the premier Tiger fishing river in the Caprivi, it has almost no wildlife because of the rural population.  On the Kwando River, it is very unlikely that you will see another person, but you are likely to encounter hippos, crocs, lechwe and kudu - giraffe and elephant are not uncommon sights during the drier season.
